As the church continues to grow, it appears that some have decided to tarnish the church and the name of Christ. A pastor was arrested on Friday for locking 77 members, including children, in his church basement for six months.

On Friday, a group called Ekimogun Youth Connect discovered a basement in a church in Ondo called Bible Believers Church, where 77 people were rescued.

The pastor is said to have locked them in the basement for six months. “About 14:00hrs of Friday 1st of July, 2022, I was reliably informed that a particular Church in Valentino, Ondo City, called ‘Ondo Church,’ locked people up in the church for over six months, telling them that Jesus Christ will come and meet them by September this year,” Mr Famakinwa, the group President, explained in his statement.
