Arsenal reportedly place £20m price tag on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Arsenal have reportedly given Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang a £20million price tag following Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure from Juventus as the Bianconeri enter the market for a striker, according to Tutto Mercato.

The Gunners captain has reportedly been open for a move away from the Emirates this summer amid growing links with Barcelona.

Aubameyang missed Arsenal’s opening game of the Premier League season to Brentford but returned with a bang as he netted a hat-trick against West Bromwich Albion in the Carabao Cup.

Any feelings of an exit will likely have been heightened as he featured in Arsenal’s 5-0 thumping by Man City on Saturday, a result which leaves them without a point or goal this season.

However, Ronaldo’s fairy-tale return to Old Trafford opens the door for a potential move for the Gabonese international swapping north London for Turin.

Juventus are armed with Alavaro Morata, who has yet to score more than 15 goals across a domestic campaign in his career, and Brazil youth international Kiao Jorge, who arrived this summer, and remains unproven in Europe.

With just two out-and-out strikers at Juventus’ disposal, Massimiliano Allegri be looking to bolster his options in a bid to win back the Scudetto from Inter Milan.

Juventus have previously registered interest in Aubameyang, according to reports, and the 32-year-old’s arrival could work as a quick fix satisfying for all parties.

The Italian outfit are light in the final third so a £20m could pose as a shrewd fee, meanwhile Arsenal could secure a windfall to fund the club’s pursuit of a right-back.

The transfer window is in full swing and things are beginning to ramp up with Edu and Mikel Arteta’s dealings at the Emirates.

Aubameyang’s deal at the Emirates expires in 2023, which would make him 34-years-old by the end of his tenure in north London, enforcing a detrimental impact on the striker’s sell-on value.

football.london reported that Arsenal will look to complete more business in the summer transfer window if they can move players out of the club this month, so Aubameyang’s departure could begin a dramatic domino effect ahead of deadline day.

Speaking after the Carabao Cup win earlier in the week, Arteta hinted at some more transfer activity before Tuesday’s deadline claiming that some exits are planned.

He said: “I don’t know what will happen, there’s still a few days to go. We have some exits as well planned, so we will see.”
